St. Luke's Community Hall
The new Hall was opened in 2002 after a number of years of fund raising by church members. It is linked to the church and includes a medium-sized hall (the church is used for big events), 3 other meeting rooms, kitchen, parish office, basement storage and a large, secure grassed area “The Garth”.
The Hall is currently used both by the congregation and the wider community: Scouts, Guides, Yoga Pilates groups, a Montessori nursery are among its 20 regular users. The hall also has many one-off bookings from local families for wedding receptions, children’s parties and other events. As an attractive modern facility in a pleasant setting opening onto a large green, it is in high demand and is usually fully booked.
The new Hall was built with the aim of providing a positive community service. One of our hopes was that we would also draw some people closer to the church family. The Hall is provided at very low cost to charities and is a very busy, vibrant and lively place at all times and on all days of the week.
